Senior Project Manager – PMO Lead

Responsibilities & Duties

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership and oversight for all projects within the PMO.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of project managers, ensuring consistent delivery practices and performance management.
  • Drive the implementation and improvement of PMO standards, governance models, templates, and reporting structures.
  • Oversee the successful delivery of high-impact, cross-functional projects across the technology landscape.
  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders to define project scopes, priorities, timelines, and budgets.
  • Ensure alignment of project outcomes with business goals and strategic initiatives.
  • Utilize and optimize project management tools (e.g., Zoho Projects, Jira, Smartsheet, MS Project) for project planning, execution, and reporting.
  • Conduct regular project portfolio reviews and risk assessments to ensure proactive mitigation plans are in place.
  • Champion Agile practices while balancing the need for Waterfall approaches where applicable.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and delivery excellence.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Technology, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is required.
  • Additional certifications in Agile (Scrum Master, SAFe, PMI-ACP) are highly preferred.
  • Minimum of 8–10 years of progressive project management experience, with at least 3+ years in a PMO leadership role.
  • Deep knowledge of Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid project management methodologies.
  • Demonstrated success managing enterprise-level technology projects with multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong familiarity with project management tools such as Zoho Projects, Jira, MS Project, Trello, or Asana.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, stakeholder engagement, and negotiation skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Ability to influence and inspire cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, tech-driven environment.
  • Experience with digital transformation, software development, or cloud-based implementation projects.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Comfortable managing global, distributed teams.
